Have you ever wondered about Christmas traditions? What is your families favorite thing to do for Christmas?
Here are some DIY ideas for you to begin your own Christmas tradition.
Make your own Christmas stockings! How wonderful it is to have a handmade stocking for a special holiday.
Make Christmas desserts and goodies together as a family. YUM!
Make Christmas ornaments using family photos!
Make your own Christmas cards for friends and family members. Use a heavy card stock for printing. A site such as Canva. com is a great place to start!
If you are having a Christmas party with little ones attending, print off Christmas coloring pages for them. Be sure you have crayons or colored pencils, too.
Most of all, enjoy your holiday with your family and friends. Be sure to record your older family members in an interview. Take lots and lots of photos, and as always, on the most important holiday of the year, Thank God for all your blessings.
Here is a recipe for a quick Christmas Story Trail Mix
FOOD MATERIALS
· Hershey’s Holiday Hugs (10 0z. bag – about 2 cups)
· Mini Marshmallows (2 cups)
· Almonds (2 cups)
· Chopped dates (you can also substitute dried fruit or take it out of trail mix!) (2 cups)
· Mini pretzels (the ones that are the traditional shape) (2 cups)
· Popcorn – I just made my own with popcorn I already had, but you can also buy it! (2 cups)
· Mini 3 Musketeers – (9 oz. bag – 2 cups) -Make sure you get the mini-sized, not the fun-sized! (Guess how I figured that one out?!?)
· Chocolate Stars – Brach’s seems to have discontinued the chocolate stars I originally used, but you can use any chocolate star or substitute Brach’s Peppermint Star Bursts
· Hershey Kisses with Almonds Gold Chocolates – (10 oz. bag – 2 cups). You can use any chocolate or candy wrapped in gold – chocolate balls, chocolate coins. I even found knock-off peanut butter cups wrapped in gold at Dollar Tree. Any gold foil-wrapped candy will work.
Mix everything together and put it in a Mason Jar. Decorate the Mason Jars however you wish. Wrap them in ribbon, put a fancy gift tag on them, whatever you want.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
