Tip #1 - Facebook
I find some of the most exciting family tidbits on Facebook. I didn't know how to save the post for the longest time, so I copied and pasted everything. When you are looking at the post, look in the upper right-hand corner for the three dots; click on the dots, then click on Save Post. You can view all of your saved posts at www.facebook.com/saved. You must log in to your Facebook account to see your posts.
Tip #2 - Twitter
From a tweet, click on Bookmark. You can access your bookmarked tweets in the left-hand menu or by logging on to www.twitter.com/i/bookmarks.
Tip #3 - Instagram
Click on the save button under the post. To access the posts you have saved, click on the three lines at the bottom of the left0hand menu and click on saved.
Tip #4 - Citing Your Social Media Post
From Evidence Explained by Elizabeth Shown Mills:
A website is a publication—the ultimate form of publication, distributed to the whole wide world!
Citing a website follows the same basic formula for citing any other "standalone" publication such as a book, map, or CD/DVD.

Tip #5 - Who Owns What on Social Media
In layman's terms, "Users still "own" their posts and the social medial platforms are granted only limited rights to host and distribute them.
It is always good practice to gain the permission from the original poster before you copy and use their content, especially if you are planning to distribute it to other people.
No matter how your choose to archive social postings, much of the ago-old documenting and archiving wisdom still rings true. Always ask for permission, be sure to cite your sources, and of course get as close to the original material as you can!
