Do not forget one of the most important people to include facts about in your genealogy research! YOURSELF!
Documenting these facts about your life for future generations using the following tips:
Your full name, date, and place of birth
The full names of your siblings, as well as their dates and places of birth
Your parent's full names, dates, and places of birth. You could also add their occupation.
If you know the information, you can repeat the above process for your grandparents and great-grandparents.
Write down how and when your parents met.
What were your favorite games and hobbies growing up?
What school(s) did you attend? What was your favorite subject in school? Who was your favorite teacher?
Give some highlights from your teen years on into your adult years. List those milestones like learning how to drive, your first date, and your friends.
Did you serve in the military? When and where?
When and how did you meet your spouse? When and where were you married?
Places you have lived.
Parenthood - list your children's full names, birth dates, and places.
List any medical struggles you have had.
Do you have a special genealogical discovery you would like to pass down to future generations? Write it down!
And finally, write down all of your family stories handed down to you.
